O’Neal Tutein was born in Bronx, NY to a football coach father and nature activist mother. Raised in the Upper West Side of Manhattan, O’Neal was limited to exploring nature and the outdoors. His parents encouraged him to attend summer camp at the early age of eight years old in Vermont. Immediately O’Neal took to the outdoors seeking out every adventure possible from water sports, mountaineering, to leading the young campers on expeditions. His passion for the outdoors and of nature continued to develop.
At 17, O’Neal went to boarding school in Lawrenceville, NJ where he excelled not only in his academics but in his physical abilities earning him a football scholarship to Tulane University. O’Neal majored in Political Science and film while at Tulane and decided to incorporate his love for adventure and travel into his curriculum. He sought out the opportunity to study abroad and proceeded to Paris where he utilized his time viewing art history first hand. While overseas O’Neals adventurous nature continued to seek out new experiences such as San Fermin, also known as" running with the bulls".
After graduation from Tulane, O’Neal continued to feed his passion for travel and adventure, exploring Alaska, Hawaii, Europe, South America, the Caribbean, and nearly every state in the Union. Working as an actor, O’Neal traveled often and took every opportunity to advance his knowledge of what each state provided in regards to nature and the great outdoors. With vast familiarity to the states and what they could provide in regards to fishing, skiing, mountaineering, camping, and much more, O’Neal transferred to Miami where he was employed as an adventure travel guide. His passion for nature and the outdoors only grew leading to the creation of Mantis Adventure. With his best friend and partner, Jehshua Barnes, O’Neal’s wish is to bring his lust for explorations and his unique experiences to others through their company, MANTIS ADVENTURE.
